Mounting a Windows Domain Share with Mac OS X 10.9.x

OS X is capable of browsing shares provided by machines in a Windows Domain using Finder.
You can even mount shares this way.
Sometimes you want to mount those shares at login time / with a script:

mount_smbfs -N "//WINDOWS_DOMAIN-NAME;DOMAIN_USER-ACCOUNT:PASSWORD@WINDOWS_SERVER-NAME/SHARE-NAME" MOUNT-POINT

example

Volkers-MacBook-Pro:intro volker$> mount_smbfs -N "//FAMILY;master_chief:boss@win7/video" /Volumes/videos
